autonexus origin
A place where we came from...
UTONEXUS Car Restoration started its operation in June 2000. It was registered under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on August 2000 with the complete shop name of FRRL AUTONEXUS Car Restoration. The name was taken from Francis Roy R. Lanuza, owner and proprietor of the said business and also an employee of Petron Bataan Refinery.  AUTONEXUS was a combination of auto and the root word nexus meaning connection; car restoration being a car service shop that specializes in car painting, body works, collision repair and auto detailing.

Prior to the shop’s operation, it was envisioned to serve car owners in the province of Bataan. Since the shop was located in Limay, it caters to car owners of Petron Bataan Refinery as well as other industrial companies located in the area. It aims to serve auto owners of their car aesthetic needs and would be far better than the so called “backyard shops” in the province.

...A humble beginnings...

The business began as a hobby of the owner. His interest in cars, which eventually developed into a passion stirred the idea and conceptualized the establishment of AUTONEXUS. As a teenager, he would like to clean the interior and exterior of his car and eventually had his car painted.  Impressed by the way that his car was painted in Manila, he decided to bring the same service to Bataan.  The quality he saw challenged him to provide the same workmanship in the province.  The first thing he did was to look for workers with experience in painting, tinsmith and trimmings in the area and was fortunate enough to find some.  They were employed on a project basis or so called per “CAR” basis.  That was the start of AUTONEXUS’ operations.

The business was established in an old abandoned motor shop by the owner’s uncle.  The advantage of this was that the shop already had a typical shop lay-out with different bays for auto repair, tool area, storage area and office.  He invested in renovation of the shop by repairing the tool room, fabrication of a painting booth, setting up of lighting system and purchasing of equipment/tools needed in painting, tinsmith, body works, detailing and car wash.

Now, new, current location & growing!!!
At the onset of the car business, he convinced his friends from Petron Bataan Refinery to have their cars repainted in the shop.  He also repainted his car as a sample unit to advertise his new business.  Fortunately, those units that were done with “fancy colors” attracted potential customers.  It came as a surprise to the owner that almost all of his co-employees especially his group mates in the Operations Department in Petron Bataan Refinery decided to have their cars repainted at AUTONEXUS.  Almost all the units that were repainted with “stunning colors”, meaning that they were not the conventional colors that car manufacturers have released, further attracted more customers.  In every car that AUTONEXUS repaints, an AUTONEXUS sticker is placed at the rear windshield, serving as an advertisement.
